About Me, Maria Madrid

I’ve always loved expressing myself through art. I painted in my first mural in my bedroom walls in my early teens (I was 11 I believe?). Years later, I won several art awards as a student, and later I received an Associate Degree in Graphic Design from Phoenix College.

After graduating, I worked as a designer for several companies including the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. In 2018, after becoming a mother, I realized I wanted to focus on my family, and It was then that I started getting back into my art. Little by little I started consistently creating, and receiving drawing and painting commissions.

In 2022 I received my first public mural commission in Downtown Phoenix, by the Shining Light Foundation. After that, I realized the impact that murals have in public spaces, and how art can reach the heart of a viewer in a matter of seconds. So, I decided to start my art business, to bring joy and inspire people from all walks of life through my art. Since then, I have worked on several public art projects as well as private commissions, including murals for IRIS, USA., the City of Tolleson, the City of Goodyear, and Scottsdale Fashion Square mall.
